Dear Patron,
Thank you so much for your interest in The David Mamet School for Boys. It has long been a dream of mine to start a theater company. What the mission statement or the goal would be was always unclear. Mainly I am interested in a script that challenges the conventional means of story-telling. Sometimes that script will challenge one’s comfort level, but that’s what it’s all about in the theater. The audience participation is a key element in the world of theater, as well as that of the playwright. Without the post-modern playwrights, we would not be asked to look at our world in a much different light than we are used to. Please join me in exploring new work for the Portland stage.
